How can impeachment be off the table if there is proof that documents that
linked al Qaeda to Saddam or documents that made the case for invading
Iraq were forged by the Office of Special Plans/Doug
Feith/Dick Cheney/Scooter Libby or whoever else may have forged them?
Of course there were flat out denials of this by those close
to the
White House, as well as many rightist bloggers. But they have
denied
other lies and actions that have been proven to have occurred (or not
occurred), or said (or not said) when it comes to this administration
and its’ enablers in Congress.

Seriously, Cokie is an idiot -- or someone who is freaked out by "exotic" people.
NOTE FROM JOHN: So what exactly is so exotic and foreign about Hawaii to Cokie Roberts anyway? The fact that the state is populated with dark-skinned people?
I guess the McCain Ad is hitting the high points of the Time LaHaye Left Behind series
Amy Sullivan, Time Magazine The visual images in the ad, which Davis says has been viewed
even
more than McCain's "Celeb" ad linking Obama to the likes of Paris
Hilton and Britney Spears, also seem to evoke the cover art of several Left
Behind
books. But they're not the cartoonish images of clouds parting and
shining light upon Obama that might be expected in an ad spoofing him
as a messiah. Instead, the screen displays a sinister orange light
surrounded by darkness and later the faint image of a staircase leading
up to heaven........ ........It's not hard to see how some Obama haters might be
tempted to make the comparison. In the Left Behind
books, Carpathia
is a junior Senator who speaks several languages, is
beloved by people around the world and fawned over by a press corps
that cannot see his evil nature, and rises to absurd prominence after
delivering just one major speech. Hmmh. But serious
Antichrist
theorists don't stop there.
Everything from Obama's left-handedness to
his positive rhetoric to his appearance on the cover of this magazine
has been cited as evidence of his true identity. One
chain e-mail
claims that the Antichrist was prophesied to be "A man in his 40s of
MUSLIM descent," which would indeed sound ominous if not for the fact
that the Book of Revelation was written at least 400 years before the
birth of Islam. The speculation reached a fever pitch after Obama's European
trip and
the Berlin speech in which he called for global unity. Conservative
Christian author Hal Lindsey declared in an essay on WorldNetDaily,
"Obama is correct in saying that the world is ready for someone like
him — a messiah-like figure, charismatic and glib ... The
Bible calls
that leader the Antichrist. And it seems apparent that the world is now
ready to make his acquaintance." The conservative website RedState.com
now sells mugs and T shirts that sport a large "O" with horns and the
words "The Anti-Christ" underneath........
Focus on the Family Action has pulled a video from its Web site that had asked people to pray for "rain of biblical proportions" during Sen. Barack Obama's acceptance speech at Invesco Field on Aug. 28.

1) Should you invest in real estate?
Uh, if you're even considering this notion, you should immediately begin searching for a highly recommended head shrinker........

Every time I look at this photo I discover something new.
This guy asserts that if we admit we are in a "depression" it would prevent a catastrophic "great" depression:
Paul B. Farrell
.......President Bush said he's a "war president." The American economy is a war economy driven by our warring soul. We spend 54% of the tax dollar on war, 47% of the world's total military spending. A half century ago President Eisenhower warned of this "military industrial complex" that's running America into bankruptcy.
Today, our economy thrives on war and disasters, generating such "spectacular profits that many people around the world" are convinced America's "rich and powerful must be deliberately causing catastrophes so that they can exploit them" says Naomi Klein in "Shock Doctrine."
Klein's snapshot of Wall Street's soul is disturbing: "An economic system that requires constant growth, while bucking almost all serious attempts at environmental regulation, generates a steady stream of disasters all on its own, whether military, economical or financial. The appetite for easy, short profits offered by purely speculative investment has turned the stock, currency and real estate markets into crisis-creation machines"

Almost one-third of U.S. homeowners who bought in the last five years now owe more on their mortgages than their properties are worth, according to Zillow.com, an Internet provider of home valuations.

It's interesting that CNN thinks it's fine to discuss whether Obama is the anti-Christ, but a discussion about John McCain's adultery, something we actually know to be true, is taboo. Unless of course, CNN think the concept of the anti-Christ is funny and light and silly, so it's okay to talk about. In that case, there are quite a few million Christians who might disagree with CNN's flippant attitude towards Christianity.

"Why do the troops hate the troops?"
Honestly, after years of hearing that if you don't support the Bush military policy, you don't support the troops, you have to wonder what the neo-cons will do now. Today, a study by the Center for Responsive Politics reported that members of the military are giving more donations to Senator Obama than Senator McCain, and when you just examine those troops who are deployed, Obama attracts more donations by a 6 to 1 factor.
The Daily Show’s Jason Jones sat down with Paul Cameron, one
of the
nation’s leading anti-gay activists, who said, “I
think the country, on
the aggregate, is safer without Bleu in the military.” Asked
why,
Cameron explained, “Guys don’t want to think about
other guys, other
fellas, ogling them in the shower or whatever.”
